How Does It Work?

Cell Phone Repair Essentials Course

Step 1:  Take The Course

The Cell Phone & Tablet Repair Essentials course is 16 clock hours of training online/virtual courses, plus live virtual coaching sessions, repair labs and certification exams.  The On-Campus delivery method adds an additional 16 clock hours for a total of 32 clock hours.  (NOTE: A complete course description can be found at the bottom of this page.)

The program level is appropriate for beginners with no experience, intermediate level technicians and advanced technicians, and is taught to the mobility repair certification standards set by the Association of Device Repair Service Excellence (ADRSE) Level 1 & 2.

This program is taught either in-person (on-campus) or online.  Your theory is delivered online, and the hands-on classroom is the laboratory practicals where you'll spend 100% of your time doing real-world repairs.   If you choose On-Campus, we recommend completing your online courses prior to attending the hands-on lab practicals to give you the optimal learning experience.(NOTE: A complete course description can be found at the bottom of this page.)

Step 2:  Pass The Tests

At the end of each core module you will take a brief quiz to ensure that you understand the basic concepts covered in that module.  The lab practicals require practice workmanship exercises be completed prior to demonstrating your workmanship to your trainer for the final workmanship grade.

Once you have completed each quiz for each module, and each workmanship exercise, you will then be able to sit for the final exam (which is taken online) and upon successful completion you will have earned your badge and certificate.

Our exams aren’t “tricky,” but they do require that you know the information if you want to pass. A passing grade is 70, and you can retake the test twice (for a max total of 3 attempts). If you do not receive a passing grade after your third attempt, you will be required to go back through the module prior to taking the test again.

Q:  "Is Hands-On/On-Campus better than Online Cell Phone Repair Training?"

A:  No, not at all.  There are pro's and con's to either delivery method and it really comes down to what fits your budget, time frame and personal situation.  If you can afford the time and expense to travel, On-Campus may be a good fit.  However, if you need flexibility and affordability, Online is the better option for you.  We typically recommend starting with Online and then upgrading to On-Campus if you feel you need it (most people are surprised by how easy we've made it learn online cell phone repair training).

Q: "How long does it take to finish the course and get certified?"

A:  This course is 16 hours of video training for the portions delivered online.  The on-campus hands-on program is an additional 16hours (2 days, Monday - Tuesday) of lab practical classes.  If you choose hands-on training, we recommend completing the self-paced online portions prior to attending your hands-on lab practical course to ensure the best training experience, if you choose.

Q: "Am I guaranteed to get certified if I take the class?"

A:  No.  A certification that can be purchased isn’t worth the paper it’s printed on.  You will have to earn your certificate by passing the course and exams.

Q: "I don't care about the diploma or certification...can I just audit the class?"

A:  The knowledge you gain in this course will help you even if you don’t need the certification.

Q: "How difficult are the tests?"

A:  Our tests are based on the cell phone repair industry standards set by the Association of Device Repair Service Excellence (ADRSE), which means that they are difficult enough that you need to actually know the material.  They are not tricky or hard just to be hard, but are challenging enough that you shouldn’t expect to be able to pass just because you’ve taken other training or courses in the past that are not based on the repair industry standard.  This training is different, and the exams will reflect those differences.
